The pendant is part of a special collection created through a collaboration between Avon and the Smithsonian Institution. The signature "Smithsonian for Avon" or "Avon Smithsonian" indicates that the piece is a replica or inspired by an item in the museum's collection, produced by Avon as a licensed product. Considered a collectible "book piece". The back of the pendant has ornate scrollwork and is signed "Smithsonian for Avon".
